Early College Program:

  • Requirements: Current 8th-grade student
  • Grade Level: 8th grade
  • Deadline: January of the 8th-grade year
  • Admission: Performance-blind lottery
  • Enrollment Capacity: 100 students for AHS, UHS, USHS, & BLSIA; 125 for LBJHS
  • TSI: Not required for admission; required for 10th-grade college course enrollment
  • Magnet Participation: Allowed if accepted into the same campus
  • Campus Eligibility: Can apply to the campus in the student’s attendance zone. BLSIA accepts students from all high schools.
  • College Hours: Associate of Arts degree/Associate of Science Degree (BLSIA) or up to 60 college hours.

Early Start Program:

  • Requirements: 85 GPA & TSI ELAR
  • Grade Level: 8th-11th grade
  • Deadline: May of 8th-11th grade
  • Admission: Based on meeting requirements
  • Enrollment Capacity: No enrollment limit
  • TSI: TSI ELAR required for admission; TSI Math required for Math and Science college courses
  • Magnet Participation: Allowed if accepted into the same campus
  • Campus Eligibility: Can apply to the campus in the student’s attendance zone.
  • College Hours: Up to 33 college hours with additional summer opportunities available.
